Merchant Solution Designer

You will be part of a leading banking firm. The Payments Technology and Environments team resides in the Payments Service Utility and its purpose is to serve our customers by transforming the Payments services experiences provided by the Bank to 99.999% availability, with greater agility and reliability.

Your new role

As a Merchant Solutions Designer within the Payment Services team, you will be responsible for the technical design of solutions in the merchant origination and management space for retail payments. You will apply your knowledge of merchant and payments systems to define the optimal solution for delivering business-driven projects within the context of the payments reference architecture.

What you'll need to succeed

• Over 8 years experience in designing and building merchant management solutions in a high tier retail or financial services organisation
• Detailed understanding of retail (cards) payment data formats including common file formats employed by major cards networks
• Experience in documenting, presenting and supporting solution designs
• Review requirements and high level designs to identify risks and challenge the status quo
• Excellent communication skills are essential to communicate and sell design decisions to various team including business and technical stakeholders.
• Broad knowledge of computing platforms and paradigms is desirable:
  • Pega Case Management
  • IBM Mainframe
  • Intel/Windows
  • Intel/Linux
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Microsoft SSIS
  • Microservices and API based integration
