Officials said it was a steaming hot day “as usual” for the competition where more than 300 players took part.
“We had players from Merimbula, Bombala, Cooma and Orbost in the tournament from under 10s right through to the opens,” a spokeswoman said.
She said the tournament was played in great spirits and teams turned it on for spectators and officials with some excellent results.
“There was fantastic sportsmanship shown by all players with lots of fun in great games of basketball showcasing some excellent skills.
In a series of games, Merimbula featured heavily with the under 10 girls defeating Cooma 16-2, while the boys had a 28-4 win over Bombala, but went down to Orbost.
Both under 12s boys and girls had respective wins in their matches, while the 14s boys won three straight games and the under 16s boys won their two matches.
The under 18s boys had good wins over Orbost and Bombala, but went down by two points to Cooma.
After their strong showing, the hosts came out on top ahead of Cooma in second, Orbost third then Bombala in fourth.
“A special thanks to all volunteers and in particular the umpires on the day, you all did a great job. It was really great see everyone having such a great day and we look forward to next years tournament,” the spokeswoman said.
There will be a clubwide meeting to discuss the competition and planning on December 5 from 6.30pm at the Merimbula RSL club.
