John and Graeme have been performing for over 30 years and are renowned for their distinctive vocal harmony sound.
They play a variety of instruments, including piano, guitar, accordion, mandolin, ukulele and drums.
The Howie Brothers have a sound of their own and they like to incorporate a few funny yarns into their shows
However, their music could accurately be described as being Australian country, with bluegrass, Irish and Scottish, easy listening and singalong type influences.
Think Hawking Brothers, Slim Dusty, Foster and Allen and Max Bygraves and that will give you some idea of what the Howie Brothers are about musically.
Wayne Horsburgh has been singing since he was 7 years old when he started with a local dance band at Benalla where he grew up on a dairy farm.
After hearing Slim Whitman sing he decided on a career in country music and practiced his yodelling and soon become proficient at the technique.
In 1978, he was offered the opportunity to tour with the travelling Australian legend Buddy Williams. He benefited greatly from this experience and soon built up a popular stage act of his own.
He also appeared on the Reg Lindsay’s Country Homestead show and the Midday Show.
Wayne’s all-round friendly and courteous manner, in addition to the fact that he always finds time to meet his fans, places him as one of the most popular of the modern Australian artists.
