Probus

Tura Beach Probus Group celebrated the 22nd anniversary of the club at their November meeting. The centre of attraction was a beautiful cake to commemorate the occasion, cut by Anne Brammelly, one of our long standing members.

The guest speaker at the meeting was Bernie Watts, who brought a few of his perfectly detailed models of well known ships, from the past to the present day. He explained the process involved in making them, and the history of these impressive ships.

Anyone interested in joining our Probus group as a guest or member, would be warmly welcomed. Be informed and entertained by our very diverse guest speakers and enjoy the pleasant and friendly atmosphere at our various outings. For further information please contact Martin on 64950915

Arts Group

The last meeting of the year for the Merimbula & District Arts Group will be held at the Merimbula RSL on Saturday, November 11 at 2pm. Meetings in 2018 start February 10.

Guest speaker this month is Carolyn Killen, owner and director of the Ivy Hill Gallery at Wapengo. Carolyn provides an artistic commercial outlet for local artists of merit, some mid-career and some emerging. It is 15 years since the opening of the gallery and Carolyn has a very interesting story to tell. Members and guests are invited to join us.

Also, the group will be presenting a sale of paintings by local artists at the Woolworths Complex at Tura Beach from Friday, December 15 until Sunday, January 25.
