The Sapphire Coast Jazz Band a  enjoyed a productive jazz workshop with one of Australia's leading jazz educators from North Sydney, Saul Richardson.

Saul first came to Merimbula as a student to be part of the jazz festival and later after qualifying as a teacher introduced his students from North Sydney Boys High School to Merimbula for the jazz festival.

Jazz band conductor  and jazz festival committee member Paul Dion invited Saul to  workshop the local band as part of their preparations for the upcoming spring concert at Club Sapphire, November 18.

"The workshop was a great success and I believe everyone got a lot of benefit from Saul's vast experience," Paul said.

The Sapphire Coast Jazz Band is a spin off from the Sapphire Coast Concert Band and welcomes new members. The band is keen to hear from trombone players interested in joining. Contact Paul Dion for further information 0408 545 859.
