Guest preacher Bishop Matt Brain gave the service along with the Reverend Lou Oakes and Reverend Anthony Frost from the Sapphire Coast parish.
Around 80 people attended the service and heard Bishop Brain talk about the challenging world in which we live and the need to focus on the better and good things in life.
Later in the service Reverend Oakes asked everyone to join her in a pray for rain.
The church built in 1869, sits on the Kameruka estate and was built by the workers and English landed gentry who originally owned the estate.
With a cricket ground, hall, homestead and established gardens including parterre, it is like a time capsule of an era gone by.
Those who attended the service also took the opportunity to visit the gardens in the homestead, look at photos in the estate hall and enjoy a picnic overlooking the cricket ground in weather for which the English might pray.
Organist Paul Dion was thanked for his efforts as he had to pedal the harmonium through the service in order for it to produce sound.
Next year a service of re-dedication is proposed for the honour rolls in the hall and granite memorial, of those who lost their lives in the First World War and it is hoped that the Governor General will deliver the commemorative address.
