The Tura Beach ladies played a stroke and putting event on October 4 for the monthly medal.
Scores reflected the weather conditions – cold at the start and warming up later. Winner of the October Monthly Medal was Mara Roberts, who scored 70 nett playing off a handicap of 23.
Other nett results: Div 1 Mara Roberts(23) 70 nett, Deanna Scott(22) 74; Div 2 Helen Pearsall(28) 72 nett c/b Dee Bell(30) 72; Div 3 Helen Coulter(38) 74nett c/b Marg Watts(32) 74.
Gross winners were Div 1 Lorraine Arnaudon 91; Div 2 Helen Pearsall 100; Div 3 Marg Watts 106.
Best putting on the day went to Div 1 Deanna Scott 27; Div 2 Dee Bell 28; Div 3 Rae Grange 28.
NTPs to Barb Rees 3rd, Carolyn Gale 5th, Janey Morrison 9th, Lorraine Arnaudon 17th. Golden shot to Joyce Luke on the 13th.
On Saturday, October 7, ladies played a par event.
With 11 ladies playing at Delegate in the Open Tournament there was a single division. Sandra Coates, with a handicap of 29, was the winner on a countback with a score of plus 2 from Donna Mayberry(19).
NTPs to Barb Rees 3rd, Joyce Jones 5th, Joy Stewart 9th, Stephanie Shaw 13th, Lynda Plummer 17th. Golden shot to Stephanie Shaw.
The ladies who played at Delegate had a great time and some winners included Deanna Scott in Div 1 nett and Theresa Becroft in Div 3 nett. Merrily Bell won a best 9 in Div 2.
MEN
The white tees at Tura Beach again produced some exceptionally high scores in Saturday’s stableford event for the John Madigan Trophy.
John Humphreys in C Grade took out the day with 47 points keeping up his good form after winning C grade on Tuesday.
A Grade was won by James Wheeler with 45 from Darren Hampton and Jeff Nicol both with 42 points.
B Grade was taken out by David Kerr from Tathra Golf Club with 45 points from Kevin Nowland and Peter Scaife on 44. Runner up in C Grade was Bruce Peel with 43 points from Len Salt with 42.
There were three eagles on the day, James Wheeler on the 4th and Stephen Baulman and Macri Christin both on the 2nd.
Nearest the pins went to H Van Deyk 3rd, M Evans 5th, J Sebery 9th, P Scaife 13th and B Lowder on the 17th, who also took out the golden shot.
Tuesday’s stableford competition was played off the white tees with A Grade won by Les Carnegie with 42 points on countback from Harry Peterson from the Bega Golf Club.
Keeping things in the family, third place went to Martin Peterson from Bega Golf Club with 39 points. B Grade was taken out by Brendan Meese a visitor from the Yering Meadows Golf Club with 41 points from Dennis Valentine and Bob Eley both on 40. C Grade was won by John Humphreys with 42 points from Boyd Campbell on 40 and Paul McInnes on 39.
A four ball best ball competition was also conducted in conjunction with the stableford comp and was won by Alan Rowlinson and Gerd Jacobsen with 49 points from Gary Kichenside and Lars Koch with 48 points.
Nearest the pins went to S Richardson 3rd, H Van Deyk 5th, M Papp on the 9th as the golden shot, B Keith 13th and B Eaton 17th.
