Reverend Anthony Frost is a member of the Third Order of the Society of St Francis and to mark the feast of St Francis of Assisi everyone was invited to bring their pets to church to receive a special blessing.
The extra members of the congregation were mainly dogs, some of whom appeared quite excited at the prospect of what was in store for them.
However Reverend Frost had also brought along a large box containing his silk worms.
“As well as being a patron saint of animals, St Francis is a great model of someone living according to the gospel,” he said.
“The members try to live in a way that honours St Francis and make vows of humility, love and joy,” Reverend Frost said.
