McAll played regularly at a church fully absorbing the rich African gospel traditions as well as exploring many other of the city’s ethnic musical influences.
On returning to Australia in 2015 McAll recorded the wonderful 2015 album, Mooroolbark – named for the Melbourne suburb in which he grew up – with ASIO, which went on to win a swag of Bell, ARIA, AIR and iTunes jazz awards.
The other elite members of ASIO are also all award-winning jazz musicians, composers and band leaders.
