The young Merimbula Grasshoppers footballer has experience as a Far South Coast rep, but will get the chance to represent NSW when he heads to the under 13 boys National Youth Championships in Coffs Harbour on Monday.
There he will represent the Country NSW boys team.
Bailey was identified at Representative Branch Championships in April and May and was invited to attend an initial three-day selection trial camp in Sydney.
He was successful in progressing to a final four-day development and final selection camp in August and was informed of his selection at the end of August.
During the past two months he has been travelling to Nowra and Sydney to continue his preparation for the Youth Championships.
He said it was great experience in the lead up as he got the opportunity to play some quality football against A-league development and Sydney Premier league teams.
Far South Coast Football Association officials said it was a great opportunity for Bailey and wished him luck at the Championships.
Locally, Berrambool Oval will play host to key tournament features in coming weeks with the Karl Posselt Cup to run next weekend and mens and women’s branch championships in October.
Officials said spectators are welcome at both events.
