Last week the school showed that even the clumsiest clot can become a hero when Stanley Marvel’s discovered that local hero, The Candy King, was actually a super-villain determined to rule the world.
When Stan’s crazy Gran and her crumbly chums revealled an earth-shattering secret, Stan discovered his own true identity and took to the skies as the greatest superhero the world has ever known.
Principal Michelle Hulme said all the kids did an amazing job.
“Everyone was engaged and smiling and the kids were fantastic. I got a bit teary at times, I’m a very proud principal and parent,” Ms Hulme said.
“We had 45 speaking parts and because we have such a strong arts program every single student at the school was involved in a musical piece.”
The pupils performed two packed evening shows and a matinee on Wednesday and Thursday last week.
Ms Hulme congratulated all of the children for their amazing efforts as well as the parents and carers for the support.
She also said it wouldn’t have happened without the dedication of the staff including Candy McVeity who organised and directed the musical, Ms George for teaching the choruses, Mrs Tuckwell for coordinating the sets and Mr Mannell for filming.
