Ms Ryan has organised a canned food drive to coincide with the Turf Club’s Christmas in July event on Sunday, July 30.
“When I think about Christmas, I think of giving and being kind and it’s cold now so I thought why not do a food drive to go with the event?” she said.
Ms Ryan has placed 17 collection boxes around the Sapphire Coast and is encouraging people to donate canned food, pasta, rice, sauces, long life milk; sugar; flour; baby food; personal hygiene products; tea; coffee - anything that is sealed and non-perishable.
The food boxes will be collected on July, 29 then donated to OzHarvest at the races on July 30 which will also raise money for Eden’s Christmas on Imlay.
Collection bins are at the News Weekly office, Pambula Bendigo Bank, Pambula Post Office, NAB, Goodyear Autocare, Merimbula Health & Fitness and Merimbula Fresh Food Market.
