The league-tag and reserve grade sides contested play with the Candelo-Bemboka Panthers during a special 50th anniversary round for the CBU club.
The ladies stole the show with a 30-6 result, while the hosts flipped the margin in the men’s draw.
On Sunday the under 18s and first grade claimed wins over the Narooma Devils, while the Hot Doggies backed up for a strong win over the She-Devils.
In Saturday’s clashes, Dylan Fletcher was the sole try-scorer for the reserve grade Bulldogs, as the Panthers proved too strong, winning 30-6.
The Panthers’ big men contained the Bulldogs through the middle, while launching their own scoring raids on the fringes.
In the first grade match up on Sunday, the Bulldogs scraped through by a two-point buffer, downing the Narooma Devils 26-24 after a penalty goal on the final buzzer.
Jake Mikula slotted the goal that tipped the result after an evenly fought contest.
The Bulldogs had taken charge early with a try to Mikula and followed up by another four-pointer to the fleet-footed winger Kyle Shepherdson.
However, the Devils staged a remarkable fight back in the second half, levelling the scores twice to keep the Bulldogs under pressure right up until the final minute.
Merimbula-Pambula front man Ryan Becker proved pivotal for the Bulldogs, crashing through the Narooma line twice in the second half to land four-pointers.
In the two league-tag games, the Hot Doggies took charge in both their clashes across Saturday and Sunday, downing the Pink Panthers 30-6 and scoring a 48—0 result over Narooma.
The immense speed off the line for the Hot Doggies proved hard to contain for the the Pink Panthers and the She Devils with the visitors scoring off a number of line breaks and long-range sprints.
The regular speedsters made their presence felt with Ebony Pointon scoring four tries to Tamika Millard’s three against Narooma alone.
This weekend will see the close of the home and away season with the Bulldogs to host the Eden Tigers.
Games will run at the ‘Dog pound’ the Pambula Sporting Complex from 10.30am on Sunday with league-tag to open proceedings.
No matter the results on the weekend, the Bulldogs will contest finals play across all four grades with preliminary finals to run on July 29 and 30.
Teams down to fifth place will get a crack at the premiership.
