Council will explain current Coastal Management Programs in a series of information drop-in sessions along the Bega Valley coastline.
Surveys will be conducted to gather information from the community about the usage and management of beaches.
Coastal hazards include beach erosion and coastal inundation.
The Coastal Management Programs aim to manage threats to new and existing developments that may be at risk from coastal hazards.
The programs are intended to preserve beach amenity and access, conserve vegetation, estuaries and headlands, and protect the cultural environment.
Four information sessions will be held. Monday, July 17, at Bermagui Football Club Rooms, July 18 at Tathra Hall, July 19 at Merimbula’s Bega Valley Regional Learning Centre, and July 20 at Eden RSL.
All information sessions run from 5-7pm. If you are unable to attend you can have your say via the website: begavalley.wrl.unsw.edu.au/coastal-hazards/get-involved
