The two teams, Black and Teal had been strong all season and to see them clash in the grand final was a real treat to the local netball fans who gathered at Lumen Christi to see which team would take the title.
It was a very physical game, but was neck and neck until the end.
Black took a four goal lead in the first quarter but a couple of minor changes to the Teal line up at the break saw them come out firing for it to be even at half time.
Teal kept up their impressive form in the third quarter to go into the three quarter break up by two.
It was a real nailbiter in the final quarter with both teams grabing the lead and only to have it snatched away from them at the next centre pass.
The defence from both teams was outstanding with numerous turnovers by Black defenders Romy Cook and Maddeline Keavers helping to keep their team in the running against the impressive shooting skills from Sam McManus for Teal.
The scores were even with five seconds to go but a shot on the final buzzer saw teal snatch a one goal victory with a final score of 38-37.
Club president Kath Musgrove said it was the perfect way to cap off another successful season.
The teams and volunteers thanked the umpires Julie Went and Kaylie Mitchell.
The club will be holding their presentation night on Saturday, July 22 all players and families are invited. For details see the Merimbula District Netball Association Facebook page.
