Flash is a very friendly one year old male Border Collie x. He really loves the company of people and other dogs, walks well on the lead, but could do with a bit more training in that area.

He knows how to sit, come, travels well in the car and will do anything to please. There is no malice in this dog but he needs a home where he will have a lot of company as he does not like being on his own. With his nature you could take him anywhere. Another dog in the family would be ideal.

Sapphire Coast Branch of RSPCA have several older cats as well as kittens available and are contactable on 0419267799 or through the Sapphire Coast branch of RSPCA Face-book page. Adoption fees are subsidized for dogs and cats adopted through AWLNSW and RSPCA. All companion animals come de-sexed, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and vet checked.
GARAGE SALE
Animal Welfare League NSW Far South Coast branch will be holding their Garage sale at Tathra Hall on July 1 from 9am-1pm. If you have any clean saleable goods to donate you can drop them off at the Hall on Friday, June 30 from 2pm-4pm or call 0400372609.
CWA
After our last meeting with a tasting of Quondongs and a visit to Potaroo Palace to see the Quolls, we have a change of pace for this meeting. Caroline Long from Staying Home Leaving Violence will be our Guest Speaker, and then a large basketful of Trauma Teddies will be presented to Paramedic Craig Howker from Merimbula Ambulance Station. All this will be on Friday the 16th June at the Country Women’s Association Hall at 24 Toalla Street, Pambula starting at 9.30am.
Don’t forget the workshop on Friday, July 7, at 10.00am, Nelleke Gorton certified CWA Cookery Judge will be in our hall to teach us how to make a beautiful featherlike sponge.
Rotary local heroes
This week on Rotary Local Heroes, following news round up with Gav, Colin will be joined by local historic society stalwart, Don Bretherton, before Christine Mabbott, who will talk about her role at St Vinnie's. They'll be followed by the organisers of Nethercote Music Factory, Jim Hinckley and Brian Ahern. Tune in to 97.5 FM from 8:30am every Friday for great listening.
Hidden treasures at Tura
Tura Marrang library is offering a day of discovery for people to explore one of the most unique ecosystems in the Bega Valley and the chance to pick up a free native tree on Saturday June 17, starting at 10.30am.
Participants will have the chance to uncover the amazing hidden treasures of flora and fauna in our backyard. Programs and Partnerships Officer, Scott Baker said that there will be experts available on the day to talk about programs focusing on understanding and protecting the Glossy Black Cockatoo, Potoroos and other rare flora and fauna.
“At 12pm, conservation experts will lead a walking tour of the local reserves around Tura Beach and will be able to give advice on how all of us can help conserve and protect our natural wonders,” he added.
The walking tour will be limited to 20 participants so bookings are essential. Walkers must wear appropriate footwear and provide their own sun protection.

Acacia Ponds Biggest Morning Tea
The Social Club at Acacia Ponds raised $1426.35 at their recent Biggest Morning Tea event which was a great effort for the small community. The organisers thank the business houses in Pambula for their tremendous support to make this day such a great success. Thank you also goes out to all the residents who donated and assisted on the day. Around 60 people where in attendance. Thanks also to Anita who was instigator for running the fundraiser.
Church History
Pambula Baptist Church is hosting a church history fun day on Saturday, June 17.
At noon there will be a free barbecue lunch with activities, games and displays. From 3pm there will be afternoon tea, anecdotes and stories accompanied by photographic displays and memorabillia. The day should finish by 5pm. If you are aiming to attend the barbecue lunch, please RSVP to Judy Davidson on 0419 009 185.
There will also be a service of thanksgiving and remembering on Sunday, June 18, at 9:30am.
