Joshua - who will celebrate his fourth birthday at the end of July – is a fun loving boy who loves kicking the footy and jumps up and dances every time he hears music.
While Ms White is still coming to terms with the news that her baby boy has a cancerous tumour in his liver, she now has an added worry, making sure she can be at his side while he receives treatment.
Joshy will soon be going through the traumatic experience of at least six months of chemotherapy at Brisbane Hospital.
As a single mother who only works part time, Ms White is now has no choice but to try and find thousands of dollars to cover Joshy’s expenses as well as paying her own rent and the cost of travel and accommodation so she can spend time in Brisbane and give young Josh all her love, care and support.
To help relieve the financial burden that Ms White is facing, her sister Stacey Lee has started up a go fund me page and is asking the community to do what they can to help this young family.
While Ms White was too distraught to speak with The Magnet directly, her good friend Kimberley Emmerson spoke on her behalf.
“She chokes up every time she tries to talk and you can understand why,” Ms Emmerson said.
“It is impossible to imagine what she is going through, to have your child, your three-year-old child diagnosed with cancer is just horrible.”
Ms Emmerson said Ms White was already in Queensland but unfortunately she could not afford to keep her youngest daughter by her side throughout the six months treatment.
“Right now it would be too hard for Hannah to take Maleeya [her 11-month-old daughter] with her, so we are going to look after her and do everything we can to help Hannah,” she said.
Ms Emmerson said Ms White had to quit her job before heading to Brisbane as she needed to focus on being with her son.
