By the three-quarter break, Tathra had the edge by six points. 

But by full time they had steamed home in an excellent display to down the Merimbula outfit in the grand final rematch by 40 points 11-9-75 to 18-8-116. 

A huge portion of credit for Tathra’s final tally will be heaped on midfield prodigy Troy O’Loghlin, who booted a 12-goal haul and almost single-handedly kept pace with the Diggers on the scoreboard. 

The Diggers got the better of the Sea Eagles in the opening quarter by a slight margin, taking the edge 21-12 at the break. 

However, the Sea Eagles were able to counter in later stages. 

Louis Coulton was still showing good form for the Eagles, scoring four majors for the club, while some new additions to the goal kicking list were added on the weekend. 

Blake Grant and Tom Marshmann both kicked a single apiece in a solid effort. 

Best for the hosts were full forward Ian Radford and Scott Richmond, who both kicked three goals apiece. 

With Merimbula’s ladies side fresh to the competition, they were outmatched by the visiting Tathra women. 

The Sea Eaglettes claimed the result 14-12-96 to 0-0-0.

Tyjana Blacka and Abbey Ellison both starred with three goals apiece, while Cassidy Alker chimed in with two to her name. 

In other matches, the Pambula Panthers moved into second place on the competition ladder, downing the Bermagui Breakers. 

After claiming the win over Bermagui 21-7-133 to 5-7-37, the Panthers now sit equal with Tathra on 12 competition points. 

The Panthers were in control from the outset with a 30-6 advantage at the first break. 

The club also boasted strength throughout with three separate players all starring with four goals each.

Johnno Di-Donato, Jake Taylor and Dylan Cook all featured for the club, while Stephen Butterworth kicked three and Justin Pilgrim notched up two majors. 

Chris Hales was the man in front for Bermagui, kicking two majors for the hosts, but the Breakers could not find enough possession to pressure the scoreboard. 

Pambula also took the win in women’s play 12-10-82 to 2-0-12.

Madi Whatman starred in a six-goal haul. 

This weekend will be a general bye for the representative round as the Stingrays take on the South Coast at Hanging Rock Oval, Batemans Bay on Saturday. 

Play will run from 2pm and spectators are more than welcome.
