Film School is back once again in the school holidays, with eight exciting workshops between April 8 and 13 at Pambula Public School.

Footprint Theatre runs its popular school for youths and adults each year with industry professionals based in our region.
Producer Hiromi Matsuoka, TV and film actor/director Patrick Dickson, cinematographer David Condon, media consultant Ian Campbell, sound recordist/cinematographer Chris Sheedy, production lighting specialist Gerry Corcoran and director/filmmaker Lis Shelley will be guiding students with lots of hands-on activities.
"We're always delighted by the level of talent and enthusiasm that the students bring to the workshops and I've no doubt that some will be destined for careers in film, TV, theatre, radio or online content creation,” Ms Shelley said.
“Regardless of what they choose to do in the future, Film School shows them what's possible, gives them some valuable skills, and that extra bit of confidence walking into auditions or interviews.
“It gives our regional youth a big boost, and thanks to generous support from the Regional Arts NSW Country Area Support Program and The Mumbulla Foundation we're able to provide courses locally at a cost well below that of equivalent city holiday courses, without the added burden of travel."
Six of the students at the 2016 Film School made films that won awards at last year's YoofTube Youth Film Festival.
Participants can choose from half, one or two day workshops in Camera, Script, Acting for Screen, Production Lighting, Film Sound, Making a Story with Voice and Sound and iPad/iPhone Filmmaking. Adults are welcome to join the classes, with most workshops suitable for ages 12 and up, while the Animation workshop is open to anyone from age 10 and up.
There will also be a screening of films made by the students and past film festival winners on Thursday, April 13 at Pambula Public School Hall from 5pm until 6.30pm.
Kate Howarth from South East Arts will launch the 2017 YoofTube Youth Film Festival during the evening.
"We'd love people to come along and support the next generation of writers, directors, actors and crew," Ms Shelley said.
Entry to the Showcase Screening is by donation and there will be a snack bar available.
Films will be rated PG or below and children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult.
