The Turf club will host ‘Tradies Race Day’ in the afternoon, but people are being asked “why not make it a long weekend to remember?”.
The clubs have come together to offer a special breakfast on the day of bacon and egg rolls with tea or coffee, nine holes of golf at the Pambula course and entry to the races.
“You’ll get breakfast, golf, transport, race day entry, two drinks tickets and reserved seating complete with a racebook,” a spokeswoman for the club said.
The club is calling the offer ‘A day out at the sports’ and encouraging everyone to jump on board.
The afternoon will feature a full eight-race TAB meet and good nominations are expected.
Entries are limited, call 6495 6154 to book.
The Merimbula Cup will not get a re-run on the day, but the club has welcomed impressive nominations for the eight races on offer.
Officials from the club said there wouldn’t be the regular family favourites like fashions or a jumping castle for the kids, but the afternoon features some strong contenders for a punt.
The club is also welcoming new interest from visiting trainers with new names on the nomination sheets.
However, there will be some regular strong contenders with good entries poised for Luke Pepper, Gratz Vella and Nick Olive.
Free buses will run to and from the club on the day, pick up and drop off times are on www.sapphirecoastturfclub.com.au.
