“It's all happening here” in the Far South Cricket association with the senior finals starting and the grand finals of the under 12s and 14s, association Registrar Charles Aggenbach said.
“In the under 12s it's quite strange the first time these two teams will face each other due to the split north and south pool system .. so it's hard to go with a winner but I believe Bega blue will come out the winner,” he said.
“In the 14s, Merimbula are minor premiers and go into the final against Tathra, who were surprising semi final winners last weekend.
“The grand final will be held at Berrmabool and Merimbula will look to the likes of Jem Ryan and Tom Kellar with the bat and Jem Ryan and Amy Wels with the ball where Tathra will look to run-scoring machine Lachlan Trickey and Kamish Threadgate..
“However, Merimbula should win this one, but will be closer then a few people think.”
In the C grade finals, Kameruka face off with Pambula in the first major semi-final.
“If Reilly Joyce fires with bat and ball this will heavily decide who will win .. prediction: Kameruka,” Aggenbach said.
In the other semi it is Bega v Wolumla.
“Bega home on the turf should be too good with Lachlan Sims and co in great form with bat and ball .. but a team of players from Wolumla if a few of them fire with the bat it will be a close game .. prediction: Bega
1st division B grade semi final
Pambula vs Tuross
Pambulas jake Taylor and Tom Hammond if they fire with the bat it could be over very quick for the Tuross Boys however they never give up so anything is possible prediction Pambula
Sth Euro vs Mallacoota
Long way for vic boys to travel but with inspirational lead Paul Preston if he fires it will the south of the border Boys a chance
But Sth Euro with seasoned veterans captain dean Friskin and Matt Corbett and Nick Mason should get them over the line
1st division a grade semi finals
Tathra vs Eden normally when these two teams meet in recent years it's for the final however this season is different with tathra minor premiers on paper should be a classic with tathra looking to a number of guys with the bat Craig Nicolson and Pete Bennett and Kel Evans but they have more dangerous guys then just these three and usual suspects Rhys Cunningham and Dan Blacka with the ball
However Eden come finals time their side is always a chance against anyone with captain Tryone Thomas leading the attack with the ball and Veteran Mark Spink with bat anything is possible prediction tathra
Merimbula vs bermagui
Merimbula will go into this game as heavy favourites and will look to Dylan Jordan with bat and ball and to English import Matthew Heafield with the bat and Matt Preim with the ball goes in as the leading wicket taker for the competition this year
While with bermagui if Liam Cooper and Ben Tett fire with the bat and Jarrod Moore and Nathan Monck fire with the ball cricket can be a funny game anything is possible prediction merimbula
