Eddie Daniels has been hailed as one of the finest tribute artists in Australia today.
Critics have hailed him a “Master Showman” and the “King of Cabaret”.
His amazing stage presence captures his audience as soon as he walks on stage.
With an incredible vocal range of over three octaves and the ability to re-create the vocal sounds of the greatest singers from the 60’s, Eddie Daniels is unique.
“I’ve always like Roy Orbison, my dad used to play his music all the time,” Eddie said.
“I have a very similar range as Orbison so I have an ability to mimic him which is a lot of fun.”
Eddie’s Roy Orbison “Mystery Girl Tour” is considered one of the finest tribute shows available today. Oobi Doobi to Mystery Girl, along with a large selection of Roy Orbison’s greatest hits are featured in this 90 minute show.
“I love every bit of the show,” Eddie said.
“I know it might sound like a cliché but when I don the costume, I am completely in character and the whole show flies.”
Eddie will be performing the second part of Saturday night’s show which will be opened by Suzie Lee as Cher in the Shoop Soop show.
“Suzie Lee is fantastic, sometimes I think she sounds more like Cher than Cher herself,” Eddie said.
Cher is recognized for her distinctive contralto singing voice and for having worked in various areas of entertainment. She has successfully reinvented both her music and image numerous times, leading to her being nicknamed the goddess of pop.
She is one of the Best selling music artists of all time and has sold more than 100 million solo albums. Suzie has huge shoes to fill but she does so with ease.
Suzie is a huge fan of Cher’s music and says she loves portraying Cher on stage.
“I am a contralto so that made singing her songs a little easier,” Suzie said. “I can’t imagine someone singing Cher’s material without the deep vocal tones that she has, it just wouldn’t sound right.”
Suzie Lee developed her career as a successful session and back up singer but it wasn’t long before her talent bought her to the front where she featured in “Legends in Concert” as Cher in the “Sonny and Cher” segment of the show.
She developed the character so well that “Cher” became her forte, resulting in the lead role of her own shows – “Turn Back Time” and “The Cher Experience“.
The Orbison and Cher show is coming to the Tura Beach Country Club on Saturday, March 25. This is a free show and the music is set to start at 8pm. For more information contact the club on 6495 9002.
