The college held both its primary and secondary carnivals at the Sapphire Aquatic Centre recently while the St George Illawarra Dragons stopped in for a visit last week.
Teachers said the kids enjoyed a break from the classroom and immersed themselves in the joyous atmosphere at the pool.
Each of the houses raised their voices for the school’s annual House War Cry competition with Baringa (White), Bobberrer (Red), Gudu (Blue) and Monaroo (Yellow).
Plenty of the students also dressed up in colourful outfits to show their House loyalties, while swimming and novelty activities ran on both days of the carnivals.
Students were able to join in across a number of events over both days.
Gudu House were the eventual winners of the combined carnivals.
Then last week the college welcomed players from the St George Illawarra Dragons NRL side to visit the primary students.
Matt, Paul Everill and Euan Aitken spent time with the primary students, speaking to them about being part of a team, working together, acknowledging differences and taking care of each other.
There were quizzes, questions, videos and every student was presented with a poster of the Dragons to take home and a chance to get autographs and chat to the players.
The visit was an informative and entertaining occasion for the students to learn about the importance of teamwork, communication and working together.
