Pearls Place provides lunches at the Pambula Masonic Centre, every Wednesday for anyone who wants to have lunch in a convivial setting and especially for anyone in difficult circumstances.
The massive $5200 donation has come from a garage sale run by Jenny, Vicki and Hilda High of their father’s deceased estate. Rob High, who passed away last October, was well-known as the owner of Mandeni, Merimbula.
“Dad was very upset when he heard how much trouble Pearls Place was having finding a location,” Jenny said.
“So when we decided to do a charity garage sale Pearls Place was the obvious choice.”
May said the money was a great help.
“This helps us buy the protein as we get a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables donated. This will keep us going for at least 12 months,” May said.
“We are very fortunate that we have a community and people willing to donate.”
