Commissioned in 2010, Merimbula 30 is a 10-metre Naiad rigid hull inflatable boat, powered by twin 250hp Honda outboards, with a top speed of over 40 knots.
It is fitted with a recently upgraded multifunction navigation suite, communications, night vision and first aid equipment, including a lifesaving defibrillator and oxygen therapy.
The vessel has a minimum crew of three and is surveyed to operate up to 30 nautical miles offshore in Sea State 2 conditions. At a cruising speed of 20 knots, it has a range of 140 nautical miles.
Members of the public are urged to show their support for Marine Rescue volunteers by purchasing tickets in the Marine Rescue NSW Art Union.
With $229,600 in prizes, tickets are three for $5 and can be purchased at either the Merimbula RSL or the Marine Rescue base.
Marine Rescue Merimbula Commander Bill Blakeman reminds all recreational water users to enjoy their Australia Day on the water safely.
