Secretary Robyn Bain said she couldn’t have been happier with how the show turned out especially in regards to the number of families that attended.
“A committee aim leading up to the show was to have a lot more free events as a lot of families come to the show and we didn’t want them to have to spend a fortune,” Ms Bain said.
Some of these free events were also the most popular with hundreds cheering and laughing at each of the comedy pig races as well as impressively large crowds cheering on the axemen showing off their muscles and skills in the wood chopping arena.
One of the main sponsors of the wood chopping, Spike Yelds said there were more people than he had ever seen watching wood chopping at any Pambula show.
Other crowd pleasers included the oyster shucking competition and the equestrian events but Ms Bain said it was the dogs that really had the people cheering.
For the first time ever there was a Pooches Parade and Ms Bain said she was overwhelmed with the response as dogs of all shapes and sizes participated. But they were outshone at the traditional and much loved Dog High Jump where hundreds of people cheered as a dog broke the regional jumping record with an impressive height of 10 feet, two inches.
