Joseph was the first collaboration between Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice and debuted on the big stage some 40 years ago. It has since seen broken box office records, a chart-topping soundtrack, and a cult-like following the world over. And now it is coming to Merimbula!

“Going to see the musical Joseph is like squeezing the most fun you could possibly have into an hour and half,” director Shaun Wykes said. “The show gallivants through an eclectic range of musical styles, moving from country hoe-down to disco to 1950s rock and roll in a matter of moments.”

A collection of 22 songs that make up the sung-through musical has had the 35 strong cast of singers/actors and 10 piece orchestra completely absorbed over the last three month rehearsal period.

Hayley Fragnito, who plays the show’s narrator, is overjoyed at the opportunity to work with a live orchestra.

“I think performing with a group of live professional musicians takes a show to a whole new level. There are moments when the orchestra accompany the full cast, singing in abundant harmony, that will leave the audience feeling amazing.” she said. 

All proceeds from this production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat are being donated to the Social Justice Advocates of the Sapphire Coast.
