Parkinson Group
The November meeting of the Bega Valley Parkinson Support was the highlight of the year. Melanie Browning the Parkinson NSW co-ordinator for support groups was the guest speaker. Members of the Eurobodalla and Cooma support groups attended and were, along with locals, very interested in the report. Three new people living with Parkinsons attended the meeting and were very pleased with the information provided. The Christmas party will be held at Club Sapphire on December 5.
Help Old Tom
The Eden Killer Whale Museum needs more volunteers for the upcoming cruise season and beyond. If you think you’ve got the gift of the gab, we need volunteers to assist with guiding tours at the Museum. If you are more of a wallflower but would still like to help we need volunteers to man the lighthouse and usher visitors around the museum. We also need volunteers to assist with publicity, exhibitions, events, catering, general maintenance and gardening. To help contact the museum on 6496 2094 or promo@killerwhalemuseum.com.au.
REAP at VIEW
Christine Welsh, Sapphire Coast REAP co-ordinator was the guest speaker at the recent meeting of the Merimbula Day VIEW Club.
VIEW Clubs are an important part of The Smith Family which is a national charity helping young Australians in need to make the most of their education. Visitors are welcome to join for friendship and interesting guest speakers.
This year’s zone Christmas get together will be at Central Tilba and will include a visit to River Cottage. Please see Anne for further details and to advise if you are interested in attending. Our Christmas lunch is on December 9 and members are asked to bring a small gift to exchange valued between $5 and $10. A prize will be given for the best decorated Christmas hat, so ladies get your thinking caps on and see what you can come up with.
