At Wednesday’s Bega Valley Shire Council meeting, Cr Sharon Tapscott raised a question over the use and servicing of the shire’s green-top waste bins and yellow-top recyclables.
She said she had been told by ratepayers the green bins were underserviced and yellow ones overserviced.
Currently for many in the shire the green waste bins have a once-a-month collection date, while the yellow recyclable bins are emptied each fortnight.
Cr Tapscott said she had heard from residents that often yellow bins went out only half full, but their green bins filled up too quickly between collections.
She asked staff whether the collection schedule could be looked into and potentially reviewed.
Her question was taken on notice.
