James has been performing many styles of music since his teenage years. Ranging from Cabaret to Rock shows.
He was performing a Neil Diamond show in Queensland around five years ago when a group of people in the audience thought he would make a fantastic Bruce Springsteen.
“I have always liked his stuff and I had covered one or two songs of his before but I hadn’t really contemplated doing a whole show. It is a huge undertaking,” James said.
After seven months in the studio, working with a seven piece band, the Bruce Springsteen cover show was ready for its first performance.
“This is the biggest show I’ve ever done.
“Bruce is a very energetic performer, he has been voted the greatest live performer of all time, they are huge shoes to fill,” James said.
In November, James will have been taking the stage as Bruce Springsteen performing the tribute show Glory Days -The Boss Experience for four years.
But in all his time performing as Springsteen there is one thing James is yet to have done.
“I’ve never seen him live, but that’s all going to change in February when I see him on his Australian tour,” James said.
When asked if he was planning to wear his Springsteen costume to the concert, James said it wasn’t part of his original plans but he would do it if it gave him a great chance of meeting his new idol.
James will be travelling to Merimbula at the end of the month to perform his tribute show to what he hopes is a large and enthusiastic audience.
He will be performing alongside band mates Danul Stewart, on guitar and vocals, David Sleishman on drums, Jared King on bass, Colin Muir on keyboard and vocals and Jason Thornton on saxophone, percussion and vocals. Each member of the band will be in full costume as the E Street Band to help mimic the real Springsteen experience.
“We put so much work into this show, we really go all out to give everyone the Springsteen experience.”
Glory Days -The Boss Experience is coming to Club Sapphire on Friday, October 29. Doors 8pm. Tickets are $20 for Club Sapphire members and $25 for non-members $25. This is an 18+ event.
