Police and emergency services have blocked off access to Quondola Street, Pambula after a crash involving a motor bike.
The News Weekly has a reporter on the scene who said that access to Quondola Street had been blocked at both the southern end as it turns into the Princes Highway and also at the roundabout at Toalla Street.
According to reports the man involved is conscious and talking. The accident is believed to have happened at about 4.30pm and involved a car and the motor bike.
Pambula Rural Fire Brigade were called to the scene to help close the road to traffic.
The man on the motor bike is in his early 50s and has been taken to SERH, Bega.
The man is from Sydney and was travelling with friends to Phillip Island for the GP this weekend. The crash occurred when car did a u-turn, according to the man’s friends.
The extent of the motor bike rider’s injuries are unknown but friends said he was in good spirits as he left in the ambulance.
The friends said that the response from local members of the public and particularly the owner of the Milk Bar “was fantastic” and they thanked everyone for the quick response to the crash.
