Using recycled timber Jack Gray made an impressive sea chest shaped box which will be beautifully engraved with a wood burner by Louis Labourmène.
Wanderer Replica publicity officer Jon Gaul said the box will be put to good use at their stall at the upcoming Eden Whale Festival.
“We hope that other Men’s Sheds in the area and even Australia may do a little something to help with the project,” he said.
The Project recently took a big step forward with the arrival of two massive keel logs at the shipyard site at Boydtown. The 15-metre hardwood eucalyptus logs, each weighing an estimated 6-8 tonnes, will now be assessed for suitability.
The Wanderer Replica Project is a non-profit, volunteer body to build and operate a 25m full-scale replica of Ben Boyd’s 1837 topsail schooner.
