The Nomads Choir, together with the Eden Singers are staging musical highlights from Oklahoma! and Fiddler on the Roof at the Oaklands Event Centre on Saturday, October 15 and Sunday, October 16.
The singers have been rehearsing hard since February and are looking forward to impressing the audience at what are sure to be two fantastic shows.
"It has been great working with both choirs to bring this wonderful music to the community,” musical director, Susan Cleverley said.
Ms Cleverley said the Nomads have benefited from some extra funding this year which has gone towards creating a more professional feeling production.
“The Nomads were the recipients of grand funding from the Mumbulla Foundation in 2015 and have purchased four headset microphones which will be used in this dynamic production."
Terry-Ann Tregear, president of the Nomads, said "the Nomads' 2015 performances saw packed houses and we know that 2016 will be bigger and better than ever."
Under the musical direction of Susan Cleverley and accompanied by Michele Thornton, the choir’s 2015 program entitled ‘The Golden Years of Swing’ covered the music of the 20s to the 40s.
With extremely positive feedback from audience members the Nomads, have this year decided to recruit more talent in the form of the Eden Singers and put on a show that is not to be missed.
The show will be performed at Oaklands Event Centre in Pambula and Ms Cleverley said they are grateful to all the support they have received from the venue.
"Oaklands is the perfect venue to stage these musical highlights and we look forward to entertaining and bringing joy and happiness to the local community,” she said.
Tickets are $20 Adults and $10 children and may be purchased through the Oaklands Ticket Centre by calling 6494 3330.
