Hundreds of people rebooted their way into spring - Running, swimming, paddling, golfing, stretching, grooving, tugging and eating and drinking!
In the Camel to Club fun run, Bermagui local Michael Whalan backed up as the winner taking over 2 minutes off his 2015 time.
Mark Ogilvie from Cooma was second, with another local, Mick Butterfield coming in third – for the third year in a row!
Young runners Emma Dunn and Kate Whitton were first and second in the Camel to Club women’s event with Georgia Poyner third.
Local runner Kate Butterfield won the Tilba Road to Town followed by Brenna Clayton from Cooma and Ej Norris from Cobargo. Well-known local veteran Keith Law from Bemboka won his third ReBoot 5.4km run, while Alexander Norris from Cobargo and Greg Zingelman were second and third respectively.
The kids fun run was as entertaining as always with some very young runners and some very fast times. For the second time, Owen White from Barragga Bay was the winner with Ej Norris second and Sam Glasson from Bermagui third.
Howie the bear from Horizon Credit Union tried hard and Renee from Nardy House also competed for her first ReBoot event.
The Teams Tug-o-War, sponsored by Clarke Law and Neilsons Hardware, was hotly contested with nine teams competing for $500 in cash prizes.
After some strenuous tugging, cheering and sweating, The Wharfies took out the male ReBoot Tuggers award and the Headbanders the female ReBoot Tuggers – members of both teams were later spotted enjoy their spoils at the local wine bar!
On Sunday, hundreds of people enjoyed their free breakfast – included as entry fee for the fun runs - at the Bermagui Surf Club.
Conditions were near perfect for the swim and 35 swimmers braved the chilly spring water and beautiful spring sunshine to complete the 350-metre course across Horseshoe Bay.
Swim winners were Jorga Moore form Quaama and Brian Logue from Bermagui. Joan and Kate Rutherford second and third in the women’s and Sam Watson and Mark Manning second and third in the men’s.
Overall ReBoot Champions based on points earned for placings in the ocean swim and the Camel to Club beach and road run were Sam Watson and Joann Rutherford both from Sydney.
