Separate money has been sort of the upgrade of the entrance road, and also for the Nurse Call System. This will leave $1.6million to be spent on upgrading the building.
An overview of requirements has been developed and detailed planning of what can be provided is soon to begin. Melissa Watson, Acting Nurse Manager, advised that a flyer is being prepared to better inform the public regarding services available. Members see this as necessary, not only for locals, but also for visitors.
The Bariatric Power Assisted Lift Shower/commode Chair purchased by Auxiliary has now arrived; as have three sensor mats, which alert staff to movement of patients at risk of falling. The Power Assisted Lifter will be a great benefit to staff working with overweight patients.
Some Auxiliary members have had health and family problems recently, which meant the Auxiliary had to postpone their luncheon. Auxiliary apologises to supporters and hope they will be willing to attend when it’s rescheduled. The associated raffle has been extended and the public will be notified of the new draw date.
The Auxiliary is please to welcome new members Maureen and Beryl. The recent cancelling of an event highlights the need, not only for more, but also younger members. Meetings are at the Pambula Community Health Centre on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 10am. All are welcome at the meeting on September 28.
Parkinson Group
The Bega Valley Parkinson Support Group’s last meeting was very successful with Consultant Pharmasist Tania Dwyer as guest speaker. Tania 's presentation was full of great information and a benefit to all members of the group. Following the meeting a large number of members enjoyed a bonding luncheon at Liltleton Café.
Members are asked to note the next meeting will be held on October 10, a week later than usual.
