Annie O’Brien is hoping the prize will encourage more Sapphire Coast residents to get involved with Liptember.
“Liptember is a fun campaign to promote a serious cause, Women’s Mental Health issues,” she said. “There are a lot of isolated women here who are dealing with post natal depression and domestic violence. Rural women also suffer depression due to isolation and loneliness with no access to physical services exacerbating the feelings of being alone.”
Liptember is a campaign raising funds and awareness for women’s mental health with women urged to wear bright lipstick during the month of September and to gain sponsorship online for doing so.
