The existing 80kmh speed zone will be reduced to 50kmh for almost 300 metres – from around 250 metres west of Lloyd St to 400 metres east of Drive-In Rd.
A speed zone review of this section of Mount Darragh Rd was carried out earlier this year by Roads and Maritime Services after concerns were raised by community members.
It was determined the existing speed zone be reduced due to the high number of residential properties along this section of road.
The change will be implemented from Wednesday, September 7, and motorists should slow down and drive to the new conditions which RMS said will create a safer environment for all road users.
Signs will be in place to inform motorists of the new speed limit.
Members of the community can sign up at the Safer Roads NSW website to receive updates about changes to permanent speed limits in their nominated area and to have a say on speed limits.
