It is likely this tournament will attract a record showing as anglers fish our local offshore canyons where broadbill are expected to congregate during daylight hours. This tournament will also be the first time anglers are permitted by NSWGFA to use braided fishing line for broadbill. Traditional mono lines will be required for blue fin tuna.
Ocean flathead, both sand and tiger, together with gummy shark remain on the bite off Pinnacles, Tura Beach and Bournda and northwards all the way to Tathra – try 20 fathoms.
This is the prime snapper season and good results are reported from all off Long Point, Hunter Reef, Haycock, Horshoe Reef, Lennards Island and South Head at Eden. Morwong remain along the reef edges together with snapper. Anchoring with burley suits windy weather and on the calmer days drifting with soft plastic brings great results.
The club maintains an Open House at Spencer Park, every Friday evening starting at 6.30pm. Visitors are welcome, come and enjoy the fishing report, the ambience, friendship and lovely views with very competitive bar prices. This Friday, June 3 June Darragh Reynolds and James Knox will be your hosts. All inquires Lindon Thompson on 0411 873 880. Everything you need to know is on the club’s website www.mbgalac.com.au.
