What a glorious day it was last Saturday for Junior Football. The morning started with the Narooma Junior Devils mini’s, who turn up week after week to play a fun and rewarding game of football.

With U10’s having the bye we then went straight to our mighty U12’s
After a poor effort last week, the Devils had to lift against Tathra. The Devils started strongly and had Tathra under pressure. The Devils scored early racing to 10-nil. Tathra struck back with a good try, Devils 10-6. Strong running from the Devils resulted in two more tries to lead by 20-6 at the half time break. Mistakes and penalties against the Devils had them having to make a mountain of tackles in our 20mt zone. Having withstood the onslaught, the Devils finally broke away to score two more tries making the final score Devils 30 Tathra 6. It was hard to pick a standout player because all players played well however Noah Martin, Michael Longbottom and Hayden Rapley went well in attack and defence.
Following our U12’s were the U14’s, and it was also the last game of the day, and what a game it was. The talent within the whole team in both attack and defence surely showed by the 58-0 score line. Let’s hope the boys continue with their current form throughout the rest of the season.
I would also like to congratulate Ryan Sweeney a former junior player who was selected to referee the girls league tag in Camden for the CRL championships. Well done Ryan
