When hairdresser, Gail Sargent saw an advert calling for volunteers to go to Manila to teach underprivileged people basic hair cutting skills, she applied. Known as Hair Aid the not-for-profit organisation trains people in shanty towns and poor areas, so they can earn an income to help support their families.

Now with just weeks to go before the trip, Gail says she is excited by the project and believes it will be an extremely rewarding experience. Some of those Gail is travelling with will also teach sewing skills.
Before leaving Gail is looking for support to help get the tools needed for the Manila project. Specifically the money raised will help toward the purchase of hairdressing and sewing kits to leave with those who have been trained. If you would like to help, contact Gail at Studio 3, Merimbula.
