Through a friend who runs the charity, Overseas Disaster Resources, Ms Welsh is able to obtain new, but unwanted items, from airlines such as blankets, pyjamas and hygiene sets.
Neville Bobbin donated the transport of four pallets of goods from Sydney to his yard in South Pambula where on Monday morning, representatives from the Social Justice Advocates of the Sapphire Coast, St Vincents De Paul, Eden and Merimbula, Campbell Page, Eden, Pearls Place and Katungul Aboriginal Corporation Community and Medical Services were filling their cars.
The goods will be given to those in need and the blankets are likely to prove popular with the arrival of cooler overnight temperatures. A Pearls Place volunteer was taking hygiene kits, pyjamas and some blankets for clients who join them for lunch on Wednesdays in Pambula.
