Jordan set up the tremendous strike rate on the posts against the Eden Whalers on the back of dominant midfield displays and some exceptional marking.
Jordan was three goals clear of his nearest opponent for the week on 17, while the closest rival within the Sapphire Coast AFL was Adam Blacka’s 10-goal effort that saw him place 36th.
The Diggers were polished across the ground against the Whalers in a decisive 39-18-252 to 3-2-20 win.
Backline cefence and phenomenal clearances from the middle led to the attacking opportunities for the Diggers with the Burch brothers Tom and Jack providing a platform in the midfield to work off.
Brendon Gordon was one of the best for the Diggers working out of the backs with some great movement to the fringes.
He paired up well with Daniel Worden working out of the back corner to ensure play moved to the Merimbula front lines, while also repelling many Eden attacking raids.
On the back of the attacking raids, the Diggers had already built to a nine-goal lead by the first break to have a 60 point buffer over their hosts.
The assault continued in the second quarter as the Merimbula team built up to a 110-point lead by the main break.
Wayne Mackenzie was a strong on-baller for the Diggers, contesting marks and clearing out stoppages regularly against some of the Whalers’ best.
Scott Munday, Pete Russell and Nathan Sebire worked hard for the Eden team, but struggled to contend with the height and speed of the visiting Diggers.
Russell particularly found it tough going as he faced Will Stroud in the right pocket with Stroud’s marking ability shining in setting up a number of goals for the Diggers.
His exceptional marking on the 50 also awarded him some shots on goal where he slotted six to keep the points piling in favour of Merimbula.
A series of players were able to capitalise on scoring opportunities with Danny Adams kicking three majors, while Lance Musgrave, Billy Stubbs and Daniel Murphy each kicked a pair of goals for the visitors.
The Whalers had a hard day out with Liam Wilkinson one of the only players able to put a kick on the Merimbula posts, landing two kicks through the big sticks. Despite his efforts, the Diggers extended to a 230-point lead.
The Merimbula Diggers will be back in action on Saturday to face the Bega-Tathra Sea Eagles at the Bega Showground from 2.30pm.
