The club held its championship presentations at a special ceremony last Tuesday where all members were encouraged to head along and have a social swim on the night.
“This season has seen a crowd of new faves join the ranks of the many familiar and experienced members,” spokeswoman Michelle Pettigrove said.
“It was great to see awards going to some very devoted and passionate young swimmers across the board.”
The club champions were Travis Nemec and Georgia Brian ahead of runners-up Mackenzie Gibbons and Charlotte Miller.
The highest point scorer was Monique Gibbons, while the encouragement award winner was Mahalia Pettigrove-Barr and Isabella Williams won the president’s award.
“It’s been one of the club’s most successful seasons with swimmers competing in numerous local and state meets and doing remarkably well,” Pettigrove said.
“Congratulations to swimmers and their coaches John Pelling and Tiarne Pointon for your tireless hard work and commitment.”.
Pettigrove said it had been a season full of fun, time keeping, barbecues, fundraising and marshalling and commended club president Violette Nemec and the committee of dedicated parents for their ongoing support of swimming in the area.
