Beppe has been called a “virtual United Nations of influences: Italian, Ukrainian, Appalachian, Sardinian and Celtic.
Between them these two brilliant musicians have played all the major guitar festivals from the Hebrides to Connemara and from Bogota to Tokyo not forgetting appearances at The Chet Atkins Festival and the famous Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.
They combine in a virtuoso performance of world guitar styles featuring music and song from both sides of the Atlantic, played with passion, beautiful precision and astounding technique.
Their total solo recording output to date is over twenty, with countless collaborations and sessions, the most recent from 2015 being their own duo album 'Round Trip'.
Scottish born and Canadian resident Tony McManus is the world's undisputed greatest Celtic finger style guitar player.
“I grew up in Scotland listening to a lot of Irish music and have been grappling with two obsessions – one being the guitar itself, the instrument we all love — and the other being the traditional music itself,” Tony says of his musical passion.
Together for this special Australian tour they combine in a virtuoso performance of world guitar styles
Widely acknowledged as one of Europe's foremost guitarists, Beppe Gambetta is a true master innovator on the acoustic guitar.
Both solo and in collaboration with top-flight musicians around the globe, Beppe has a style that's memorable both for its deeply emotive tone and for its technical brilliance.
Beppe approaches his music from a unique stance, as an Italian musician in love with both American roots music as well as the music of his native country.
He seamlessly bridges the shores of the two continents, creating a musical fusion where American and Ligurian tradition, emigration songs and folk ballads interact, weaving a deep dialogue beyond rigid classification.
Tickets are $25 available at the door, for this concert at Wolumla Hall on Saturday, April 2, starting at 7pm.
