Maka Ofati was in Melbourne to participate in the Super 10s competition where he played against the top players in the country.
Throughout the week long tournament Maka was undefeated and only dropped one set.
Merely hours before the semi final Maka was informed of his big role, which he said was a good thing because it gave him less time to get nervous.
In front of thousands of people, Maka strolled onto Rod Laver Arena shook the hands to the tennis greats and tossed the coin in the air.
“It was a lots of fun, a really good experience,” Maka said.
Unfortunately, Maka was not able to stay and watch the match and instead had to watch it on TV in his motel room.
Maka was also awarded the Nick Kyrgios prize for aggression and risk taking in the tournament.
