When Merimbula Knights skipper Luke Ryan followed it up with a pair of his own before Zac Wells also claimed a triple, the game could have been declared over on the spot.
The Pirates struggled from the outset as the Merimbula bowling attack destroyed the order for just 39 runs.
Elijah Blair was the only batsman able to surpass double figures, while four wickets were claimed for ducks in the short-lived innings.
The Merimbula wicket keeper was on point to secure three catches as the Pirates relied heavily on edge shots.
MacDonald had added a fourth to his haul by the close of the innings and had only given up seven runs.
Ryan boasted similar figures with just four runs against him, while securing two maiden overs.
Merimbula took to the crease with a simple task in order.
Forty runs or more would secure a quick victory.
When opener Rana Burke was done in for a duck there was a glimmer of hope for the visitors.
However, it faded quickly as Mathew Lawson and Ash Postance quickly put on the required runs.
Lawson was dismissed late in the piece to allow Samson Ryan a single before the Knights reached the total.
The Knights are now holding down third on the competition ladder with just three rounds left to play in the one-day season.
The Knights will play the Bulls in Bega on Saturday from 1pm.
