The Merimbula Big Game and Lakes Angling Club has made a submission to the Department of Primary Industries for an artificial reef to be situated in Merimbula Bay.

The club said if the application is approved its likely anglers would be able to see similar action just off Merimbula. 

Meanwhile, the club said offshore fishing was also on the mend with a few yellowfin Tuna reports and the expected arrival of marlin any day. 

Snapper remain on the chew about the reefs, but size needs to be watched. 

Morwong can be caught all along the coast from Eden to Bermagui so just pick your favourite port and get fishing.  

The lakes and estuaries are improving rapidly with a good run of dusky flathead, while there is also schools of tailor and mullet about. 

There are good schools of Whiting in all the estuaries, while salmon are also reported well downstream in the Pambula River. 

Jeff Knox and Darragh Reynolds are scheduled to host at the Spencer Park clubhouse on Friday from 6.30pm.
