“The Merimbula-Pambula Bulldogs have a long standing and proud history with significant success throughout its time, not just in victories and premierships, but more importantly with the development of young sports men and women,” Club president, Laurie Dellevergin said.
“We are delighted to have the Top Pub again come on board again as our major sponsor as it provides us with crucial support to continue the ultimate goal of the club which is to see the game of rugby league be available at all levels to all ages across the region.”
Dellvergin said the Top Pub’s family friendly nature had earmarked it as an excellent place to cater for club functions for all ages.
The club was also excited at the prospect of a stronger top grade competition as clubs seek re-entry to Group 16.
So far, Cobargo-Bermagui have been accepted through the portability rules, while Mogo and Tathra’s applications have been rejected, but it is possible Tathra will be appealing the decision.
Despite the rejected applications, Group 16 is currently boasting the strongest competition it has in many years and Dellevergin said it was a good sign for the future.
“The growth of the competition is evidence of the support for rugby league in the south eastern region of NSW from both players and supporters alike,” he said.
The club will hold a Christmas celebration on December 5 from 2pm and everyone are urged to head along.
