More than 100,000 letters from young Australians were sent to the North Pole last year. With less than a month to go until Christmas, Mr Gersbach said Australia Post is again preparing to deliver thousands of letters to Santa.
Eleven-year-old Chole Ghattas from Merimbula Public School was the first local child to put her letter in Santa’s mail box.
Chloe said she asked Santa for a dolphin necklace with a blue charm and a blue drink bottle with gems on the outside.
“I can’t wait to get my letter back from Santa,” Chloe said.
Letters to Santa should be addressed to Santa at the North Pole with 9999 as the postcode. Letters mailed before Christmas on a stamped envelope, with a clearly written full name and address, will receive a response direct from the North Pole.
