He will be performing his Runaway Australia Tour in the celebration of his new single Runaway at the Pambula Surf Club on Saturday, November 28.
The tour has an added twist; joining Ziggy will be two filmers, a tour manager and two committed surf/yoga friends.
Beginning on the Goldcoast, the crew will convoy to Pambula before heading towards Exmouth, WA.
Taking the long route down and around the Eastern, Southern and Western Australian coastlines, the crew will find themselves in Tasmania to finish their journey. Amongst the endless search for waves along the way, the crew will be hosting beach clean ups alongside the shows.
Their main goal for the adventurous summer? To entirely eliminate the groups plastic consumption throughout the tour.
Ziggy Alberts is a coastal folk songwriter, free surfer and environmental enthusiast based out of Byron Bay, Australia. Picking up a left handed guitar in 2011, Ziggy has supported the likes of Ash Grunwald, Nick Saxon, Benjalu San Cisco, Daniel Champagne, Dustin Thomas and Mat McHugh.
Touring both nationally and internationally with performances at Bluesfest, Falls, Splendour in the Grass (2014, 2015), and PIKNIK, Norway (2015) he sings heartfelt stories of personal endeavours, ocean side upbringing, environmental issues and life on the road. His music touches the old and young alike.
With a home schooling background, surfing and writing from a young age, Ziggy started teaching himself how to play guitar in 2011 on the Sunshine Coast.
In 2012 he released his debut EP "Feels Like Home" and progressively traveled up and down the East coast before moving to Byron Bay in 2013.
Releasing a short album "Made of Water" in October 2013, Ziggy finished 6 tours in 2014 before returning to NSW to start recording once again.
On January 1, 2015, he released his third record and debut full length album ‘Land and Sea’ and has since reached two million plays on Spotify, accumulated 38 thousand followers on Instagram and appears as a regular feature of the top 10 ‘singer/songwriter' charts on iTunes.
